Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University (BSU) is one of the most significant and renowned higher education institutions in Georgia. Located on the coast of the Black Sea in Batumi, within the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, the university serves as an important center for education, science, and culture in the region.
The university was established in 1945 as a teachers’ institute, but in 1990 it was transformed into a university and was named after Shota Rustaveli. The university has a rich history and plays a vital role in both the regional and national educational systems.
BSU has several faculties encompassing various academic disciplines, including: the Faculty of Exact Sciences and Education, the Faculty of Economics and Business, the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences, the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Health, the Faculty of Technology, the Faculty of Tourism, and the Faculty of Humanities.
