Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University (BSU) is one of the most significant and renowned higher education institutions in Georgia. Located on the coast of the Black Sea in Batumi, within the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, the university serves as an important center for education, science, and culture in the region.

The university was established in 1945 as a teachers’ institute, but in 1990 it was transformed into a university and was named after Shota Rustaveli. The university has a rich history and plays a vital role in both the regional and national educational systems.
